An amateur photographer seeking professionalism. Shady Kanaan splits the dust of the Syrian desert, chasing the sky
Perhaps what Syria went through had a role in crystallizing that hobby in the soul of young Shady, who lived through this war from its beginning, taking those memorial photos of his home city, Alsoukhna, and later became pictures that remained as memories of the ruins of the destroyed city.
His Grow up
Shady Kanaan is from Alsoukhna City in the eastern countryside of Homs, where he studied until the secondary stage, then stopped his studies due to the events happened in Syria.
An amateur photographer began his journey in the world of photography in 2013, when he began documenting snapshots and photos of his city Alsoukhna for the purpose of remembrance.

“Actually, I love photography from the time I saw my father, he had pictures and a camera, and from that time I decided that when I grow older, I will have a camera then I will take pictures only for the memory.” …. Shady Kanaan
He experienced war in four years and then moved to live in Saudi Arabia where new doors opened for him in the world of photography. He started to dive in the world of photography, short video design, and primitive designs. Then he gave full time to his interesting world completely in the middle of 2016, starting with training, practice and education intermittently.
Challenging Difficulties
He worked as a carpenter in a workshop to apply, skillfully, some of what he learned in the world of carpentry.
His circumstances did not help him much, and he took most of his pictures by the mobile phone according to his modest capabilities. Despite this, it was a harsh experience in the absence of modern equipment, but it is an important and useful experience.
He learnt the basics of photography and image processing methods because it is no less than the value of the camera that helps to take the picture. The processing programs help to give an idea through the colors and method of treatment for each image.
He had a role in teaching others some of the basics of photography through training courses, which he supervised despite his young age.
Working Places
He moved between the mountains of Saudi Al-Souda in Abha and the alleys of Khamis Mushayt, to the historic Okaz Souk in 2019 in the Saudi city Taif, where he created his own album, in which he showed us history in that time through some pictures.
